Thank you to the Music Department and all the student performers for a wonderful evening of music at the Wally Pop concert on Friday.
Students from every year group made it through the auditions process to enjoy their moment on stage in front of an appreciative audience of friends and family.
It was poignant for some, as they were performing at Wally for the very last time. Millie, in Year 13, who you may have seen playing Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls in the Ship last November, opened the show with Billy Joel’s Vienna in a beautiful duet with her sister Cate.
But there were also many Year 7s performing for the first time: Annabella and Liza gave a spirited rendition of the rhythmic Best Day of My Life by American Authors. Eleven Year 7 students opened the second half of the evening with a medley of Abba songs and Cici and Daisy, both in Year7, performed Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain.
Our outgoing Assistant Head of Sixth Form, Mr Pollen, closed the show to huge applause with Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off.
