Water is available at all times and pupils are encouraged to drink regularly. A new water fountain has recently been installed near the Early Years classroom. School water bottles may be purchased in the School Shop. If bought elsewhere the bottle must be plain in colour with no obvious pictures or logos. Cans, cartons and bottles of flavoured drinks are not allowed in School.
A cooked breakfast and/or cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt and fruit juice is served to those pupils booked into Breakfast Club. Breakfast is served from 7.15 – 8.00am. Breakfast Club carries an additional charge of £5.15 per session.
All pupils are provided with healthy snacks at break time. Girls in Pre-Prep may also have a drink of milk.
All pupils eat lunch together with their Forms in the Dining Hall. There are two sittings: Pre-Prep start lunch at 12.10pm and Prep start lunch at 12.45pm. Pupils sit at tables with their teachers. Girls in Early Years 1 are served at the table. Girls in Early Years 2 choose and collect their meal choices with staff supervision. Girls in Years 1 – 6 have trays and are supported in their choices. Good table manners are expected and we encourage children to eat a full and balanced meal. We will always do our best to cater for special diets which can be requested by writing to the Head of the Junior School. Parents are also welcome to come and view School food, again by arrangement with the Head of the Junior School.
After School Club
A hot meal, fruit, home-made cakes and juice, is provided from 4.15 – 5.15pm to pupils attending After School Club, which is charged at £9.80 per session.
Walthamstow Hall is a nut and sesame-free School and we appreciate parents co-operation in ensuring that pupils do not bring into School anything containing nuts or sesame seeds.
