Sociology
Sociology is the study of human societies and social behaviour. Through the use of systematic methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis, Sociology aims to develop a body of knowledge about the structure of society and human activity. Its subject matter ranges from the micro level of face to face interaction between individuals to the macro level of societies at large. Sociology is a branch of the social sciences and is sometimes referred to as 'the science of society'. Sociology is taught in the Sixth Form at Advanced Subsidiary GCE Level in Year 12 and at Advanced GCE Level in Year 13.
