Our Department aims are:
to encourage a love of reading by stressing the central importance of literature; to develop young people’s awareness of language and their ability to use it effectively in written and oral work; to encourage pupils to become increasingly sophisticated in their understanding of, and response to, non-fiction material; to encourage pupils’ development of ICT skills to enhance creative, critical and media-related work; to develop articulate and confident speakers and sensitive listeners.
