The messages we give out subconsciously through our body language can reveal much more about our state of mind than we realise.

Leading our Sixth Formers on a path of self-awareness last week was body language expert Mike Carter.

His top tips on creating a sense of credibility include: keep your hands on view (would you trust an interviewee who sat on their hands?), breathe deeply (this calms you and those around you) and nod your head at a speaker to create a bond.

It was fascinating, invaluable stuff, especially for our students looking to make their way in the world.
