Congratulations to our Diana Committee whose work has led to Walthamstow Hall being chosen as Anti-Bullying Ambassador School of the Month for March 2024.  The Committee comprises 25 students across all year groups. The Committee’s recent application for the Diana Award Community Action badge impressed the judges so much, they selected us from a pool of over a thousand schools for this monthly accolade.

The Diana Award is about empowering young people to make a change in their community.  Last academic year the Diana Committee achieved the Diana Award Respect badge which focused on diversity and inclusion within our School community.

Recent work has included raising money for West Kent Mind, delivering an anti-bullying workshop at Otford Primary School and speaking to Year 7 parents on Induction Day. The Award organisation explained why it chose the Wally Hall team as monthly ambassadors:

From fundraising for a local mental health charity, to running informative workshops for parents/carers and local primary schools. They even created an accessible, step-by-step flowchart for the school website to ensure that every member of their school community knew what to do when bullying behaviour happens.

We were so impressed with how thoughtful the team have been in organising their anti-bullying work; not only did they include their wider school community in their efforts, but they’ve also put a real focus on improving the accessibility of their work and the visibility of their team. This is exactly what our Community Badge represents – well done!”
