What a success Horticulture Club is turning out to be. Club members have been growing rocket, lettuce, radishes, mustard leaves, chives and parsley in the beds donated by last year’s leavers and WHF&P.

After harvesting the entire crop, girls sold the lot to parents who stopped by the first “Wally Wonky Veg Mini Market” at School drop off on Friday.

It was wonderful to see their budding entrepreneurial skills as they discussed with adults what they had grown and how it could be used. The girls have learnt how to weed the beds, thin the seedlings as they germinate and care for the plants as they grow.

The sale raised near £40 which will be invested back into Horticulture Club to ensure a bumper growing year ahead.
