This year’s Science Week opened with explosions! Peter from Wonderstruck took his audiences of Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and the Junior School on a whistle stop tour of the principles of combustion, Newton’s 3rd Law, rockets, gunpowder and more, demonstrating each with its own exciting event.

The theme this year is Save Earth. Year 12 scientists led a Prayers outlining all the challenges students can get involved in to win points for their Houses.

Tuesday is Energy Day and students will be testing the energy in food, pedalling to make as much energy as they can on a special bike (top marks to Mr Hughes for demonstrating this in front of the School), bringing in as many dead batteries as they can find and making batteries from 1p and 2p coins.

Wednesday is Biodiversity, Thursday is Healthy Living and Friday promises to be a celebration of our beautiful planet, including a visit from some calves and a chance to buy ice cream.
