Now for our regular roundup of our students’ sporting achievements outside School.

Football

Felicity and Elishka are National FA Champions, after playing in the winning team at the English Schools Football Association National Cup Final.

Both Year 8 students are in the West Kent District Schools Football Association team.  Representing Walthamstow Hall, they recently went with their team to Stoke City football stadium to play against Liverpool District – and won! This is a fantastic achievement and we are honoured to have national football champions in our midst!

Sailing

Laura in Year 11 competed at the Royal Yachting Association Youth Nationals over Easter and finished 3rd girls boat in the U19 skiff class with her partner Jess. As a result, she has been selected to join the RYA Youth Performance Squad Summer Team for the top eight boats (three female) in this class in Great Britain. Laura will compete in the National, European and World Championships this summer as part of the team.

Tennis

Milla in Year 5 is making fantastic progress in her tennis.  Over Easter she made it to the semi-finals of the latest national tournament for her age group and she is currently Sixth in the Under 10 national rankings.

She has now been selected for the LTA’s development programme. This is the first step in the long journey of aiming to transition young players to the international stage by the time they are 14. The LTA place a lot of emphasis on attitude, work rate and commitment, not just results – so it’s well done Milla!

Dressage

Jemima in Year 10 and her pony Juno competed at the British Dressage National Championships at Hartpury University recently. She was delighted to be placed in Sixth place and is now continuing her training with the aim to compete nationally again this summer.

Cricket

Congratulations to Erin in Year 8 who has been selected as captain of the U13 Sussex cricket team.
