An update on our badminton teams’ progress. The A teams in Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9) and Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11) are both through to the Semi-Finals of the South East England Badminton Cup.
Our KS3 As beat Nonsuch High School’s B team in Round 3 and the KS4 As beat The Green School 10-0 to progress through this knockout competition.
KS3 A team KS4 A team
The B teams in both age groups are out after some valiant matches. KS3 Bs lost to Colchester County High School in Round 2 and the KS4 Bs lost 8-2 to Chelmsford County High School’s strong A team in the Quarter Finals.
KS3 B team KS4 B team
Year 7s played their first away friendly match against Sevenoaks School earlier this month. They faced eight Year 9 boys and a team of girls who were a mix of Year 8 & 9. Our Year 7s battled brilliantly against their older opponents.
They lost overall to the Year 9 boys, although managed to win two of the games, which was admirable! Against the older girls team, Wally’s Y7s played brilliantly, winning the match. There was a fantastic line up of parents supporting, it was a fun event and thank you to Sevenoaks for making this so enjoyable.
