Years 8 and 9 ‘brought lots of joy to lots of people’, said Headmistress, Miss Ferro, after their open-air performances of James and the Giant Peach last Thursday and Friday evenings.

Roald Dahl’s imaginative fruity flight of fancy was adapted with wit and flair by Walthamstow Hall Drama teacher Miss Rebecca Harris who also directed the play. Creativity abounded in the costumes and staging too with James’ eight and six-legged friends donning cycle helmets adorned with insect antennae and bright orange umbrellas being artfully moved around to create the eponymous peach.  The enthusiasm of the cast and the fun they had performing was infectious and very happy, sunny evenings were enjoyed by the actors and their audience alike.
