In preparation for the Junior School production of The Lion King this summer, Year 5 have enjoyed a choreography workshop, learning to think and behave like a lioness in a finely-tuned hunting pride.

It was a day of exciting cross-curricular learning covering character definition and powerful descriptions; sounds, intonation and idiom of other languages and cultures; African music, beat and rhythm; Art and Design Technology; dance and ensemble movement to support their roles as the guardians of the African savannah.

For part of the day, Year 5 were joined by some Year 6 pupils who will also take the roles of Lionesses in the show, as well as Year 4 who will act a wide range of African animals including gazelles, zebra, giraffes, rhinos and even an elephant!
