Dr Al-Sarraj talking to students                  With our Head of Science, Dr Doyle

We were delighted to welcome back Walthamstow Hall 2007 leaver Dr Al-Sarraj this week to talk to our Medical Society about her route into Medicine.

Dr Al-Sarraj qualified from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2013. She completed her hospital rotation in the East Midlands before returning to Kent to complete her GP Training in the Tunbridge Wells Vocational Training Scheme. She now works at a GP practice in Sevenoaks with special interests in Women’s Health and teaching.

Dr Al-Sarraj advised our current students to be themselves, and to remember that while getting the grades for medicine is necessary, “grades don’t make a good doctor, do it because you love it”.

Our Medical Society meets weekly to listen to a range of speakers and take part in some fun medical-related activities.  The Society is keen to hear from former students or family members working in any aspect of healthcare to come in and share their professional experiences.
