The founder of the online sign language course the entire Senior School is following this term, appeared on Teams to offer encouragement and answer questions last week.

Anthony Sinclair set up “Sign Source“, to help bridge the gap between society and deaf people and to make it easier for schools and organisations to access sign language learning.

Communicating through his translator, Anthony explained that becoming fluent in BSL is as much of a journey as learning any other language. He hopes there will soon be a GCSE in BSL.

His biggest message was to use whatever sign language you are able to learn, because deaf people will be delighted to see you trying to communicate with them.
