Year 3 have opened the batting for the resumption of Junior School sports fixtures. It was a double first: the first fixture this year group had ever played, and the first year group in the Junior School to play a sports fixture this academic year.

Pupils played The Mead School in two matches at Nevill Cricket Ground.

The Red Team showcased some great batting and fielding, with Cici scoring some great runs and Rita bowling a whole over without allowing the other team to score. The final score was 214-230 to The Mead School, with Matilda being nominated Player of the Match for her all-round fantastic bowling, batting and fielding.

The Blue Team had an incredibly close game, winning on runs scored but losing overall by just two runs due to more outs. The overall score was 226-228 to The Mead School, with Milla being nominated as Player of the Match for all round brilliant play.

There are some very difficult skills involved in cricket and we are proud to say that every Walthamstow Hall pupil bowled using the full, very complex bowling technique. Both teams demonstrated exemplary behaviour and fantastic team spirit all afternoon. We couldn’t think of a better way to return to fixtures. Well done!
