Congratulations to our three teams of Year 10 students who successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition in the South Downs over the weekend.

Twenty students walked from Southease to Birling Gap, camping at Alfriston overnight.  They  are not meant to use their mobile phones, but work out their route using maps and compasses, carrying camping gear in their rucksacks. Four more teams of students completed this same expedition last month.

Our Duke of Edinburgh Manager, Mr Ramsden praised the students for “a fantastic job”, especially given the wind and torrential rain when they set off on Saturday morning.

Big thanks to Mr Ramsden for all his support, and also to Mrs Fassnidge, Mr Lockwood and Year 12 Alice for helping out. The students were given expert guidance from external assessors Stephen Wass and Ellen Curry.
