This half term Year 6 have been on a voyage of discovery around a make-believe galaxy of 23 Careers Planets (23 job families). They have discovered various jobs as they travelled to each different ‘planet’. While there they learnt about the different sorts of tasks they might be asked to do, what sorts of qualifications they might need for a particular role, who they might work with, where they might work and what their working conditions might be. Each week they completed different tasks such as writing a blog, creating a storyboard or presenting their chosen career to a visiting alien. Through the process, they developed their self-awareness and identified the skills, qualities and interests they have. Their journey ended with them creating their own ‘Planet ME!’ See the creative and colourful planets.
