The Junior School mini bus was back on the road at the beginning of this week making two lots of special deliveries; distributing Summer Term work packs to pupils in Years 3 to 6 and collecting donations from Walthamstow Hall Junior School families for local charity Friends for Family.

At the end of the Spring term Junior School co-curricular and clubs coordinator Mrs Hudson ordered and compiled work packs for each Prep year group including; Maths, English and Science workbooks, exercise books, reading books and art materials, depending on what each Year Group required. These items were then put into quarantine at the Senior School site for 3 weeks.

On the first day of term the work packs were collected by a delivery team lead by Classroom Assistant Mrs Nicholls and delivered to each pupil’s home. Pupils will be using the packs to support their virtual lessons on Firefly during lock down. When the work packs were dropped off Mrs Nicholls was able to collect donations of tinned and long life food, toiletries and washing powder for the local Sevenoaks charity, ‘Friends for Families’, helping local families in need. These donations are being quarantined before being distributed.

Charity and love is the theme of Miss Ferro’s Assembly/Prayers tomorrow, which students and their families can find on Firefly, the perfect way to end our first full week of being a virtual school.

Families who wish to donate to Friends for Families can do so by going to https://www.friendsforfamilies.org/
