While she is alive my crown shakes on my head

The costumes are here and the rehearsal time and tension are building ahead of the opening night of our Upper School play, Mary Stuart, on Monday 25th November.

The drama is set in 1587 and focuses on the complex emotional and political stories of Mary and her rival, Elizabeth 1st – the first and only time in our royal history when two female monarchs were at loggerheads. Much of the play is set in the two days leading up to Mary’s execution (how will they do that bit?) and we are promised some watery stage effects.

It runs from Monday 25th-Saturday 30th, with Thursday off. Tickets are £12 (including interval drinks) or £10 for the opening night preview / matinée, available from the School Office.
