The annual Sports Awards Evening is an excellent opportunity to recognise and celebrate the successes that individuals and teams have had over the past year.

Walthamstow Hall students have an outstanding passion for sport, and it was fantastic to be able to acknowledge the dedication and commitment they have shown.

A large proportion of students have represented the School in a range of sporting activities this year, and we are very proud of how they are outstanding ambassadors for the school through sport.

It was fantastic to welcome Jessica Haynes as our guest speaker for the evening. Jessica grew up in the local area and has a great passion and talent for netball. Growing up in Kent she played for many of the teams that Wally girls currently play in, and went on to be selected for England Netball, where she represented her country in a tour of Australia.

A number of awards were presented last night including Players’ Choice and Coach’s Choice for each team.

The Outstanding Achievement in Sport Award was awarded to Eva in Year 7, who set a new national English Schools’ swimming record in the Spring Term.

The Young Sportswoman of the Year Award was given to Nina in Year 10. Nina competes for the School in a number of sports and demonstrates a consistently positive, supportive attitude as she does so. She has been selected for England trials in lacrosse and continues to excel at tennis.

The Sports Team of the Year Award went to the U12 Netball team who have excelled this year, becoming Kent County Champions.
