Welcome from the Headmistress
The Headmistress, Mrs Jill Milner, is an Oxford English graduate who started her teaching career in 1980. She has held academic and pastoral positions of responsibility in both the independent and the maintained sector. She joined Walthamstow Hall in September 2002 from Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls.
Mrs Milner is married with three children. Her youngest daughter attends Walthamstow Hall Senior School.
Welcome to Walthamstow Hall, a thriving, forward-looking community built on a solid foundation specialising in educating girls to the highest standard since 1838. Respect for others, a strong sense of community and a pride that comes from sharing a great tradition make Walthamstow Hall an environment in which each girl can flourish, discover and develop her talents and make lifelong friendships.
Since I joined Walthamstow Hall in September 2002, I have had the great privilege of seeing my first generations of girls pass through both the Junior and Senior Schools. I have followed the progress of both cohorts as they have gained academic success and grown into accomplished, assured and dynamic young women ready to make the most of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, be it at senior school or university.
Our record of academic achievement is well-established but we aspire to much more than this. Education is about developing people, so we value your daughter’s happiness and personal development at every stage.
Inspiring teaching, wonderful facilities and the close partnerships that exist between parents, staff and girls lie at the heart of our success at Walthamstow Hall.
We have designed this website to give both existing and prospective parents, pupils and staff the very latest Walthamstow Hall information. If you would like to know more about any area or wish to arrange a visit please do get in touch.
