Exceptional A Level Results

Walthamstow Hall students have achieved the school's best ever set of A level results this year with an incredible 68% of exams passed at A grade and 84% at A and B Grades.

There was a 100% pass rate with girls achieving an average of 3.7 passes. A third of pupils gained straight A grades across all subjects and more than 50% earned more than 400 UCAS points.

Within these amazing statistics are fantastic stories of individual achievement.

Ashley Uffindell gained an incredible 5 A grades and is off to Exeter University to study Psychology.

Fresh from a summer spent teaching maths in Africa, Deputy Head Girl Harriet Wheeler learned of her 4 straight A's as she embarked on her Gap Year and application to read Economics at Cambridge.

Hannah Cox, will also be taking a Gap year. Her 3 straight A grades have earnt her a place reading Biology at Bath which she will start in 2010, after spending her Gap Year teaching music at an orphanage in Africa, through a Goffe Travel Award.

Alison Firth gained 4 A grades and will be joining Ashley at Exeter in 2010 when she takes up her place to read Classical Civilisation and Spanish.

Miranda Kitchener's 4 straight A's secured her a place at Magdalene College Cambridge where she will be reading English.

Rosie Buist, another student to gain 4 straight A's, is off to read Medicine at Dundee.

Headmistress Mrs Jill Milner said, "We are brimming with pride. The enthusiasm and hard work that our students and teachers have put into A level studies has been extremely well rewarded. Achieving 68% of passes at A grade is the pinnacle of many years of exam success at Walthamstow Hall."
