Walthamstow Hall Senior School in Hollybush Lane is close to all local amenities in Sevenoaks, Kent.

The original school building was built in 1882 with many 'Arts and Crafts' features.

School History

Dining Hall


The Dining Hall is an impressive room with a lovely atmosphere. The vaulted ceiling and oak beams give it an air of splendour. Girls enjoy a sociable setting for lunch here and receptions are often held during performing arts events.


Erasmus Centre


The Erasmus Centre is a modern teaching environment for The Humanities. It was completed in 2002.





The Ship Theatre


The Ship Theatre features a 'thrust' stage design which is based on Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. It is a popular venue for school events and outside lets.




Katy Sexton opened the new swimming pool at Walthamstow Hall


Our new 25m indoor swimming pool, completed in summer 2007, was the venue for the recent IAPS Swimming Championship. Girls excel at swimming and hold several national records. The school has an active sports and P.E. department.







New Science Labs

Six new science laboratories with preparation rooms and a photographic darkroom were opened in September 2004.





New computers at WH Sevenoaks


Modern ICT Equipment gives girls the opportunity to undertake individual project work simultaneously. ICT is used throughout the curriculum.






Library

Girls use the well-stocked Library for independent study.






Creative Arts and Crafts



Superb facilities for Art and Creative Textiles exist here. Many students go on to study at prestigious art colleges.

Over 70% of girls learn a musical instrument in school.
