Headmistress

Mrs Jill Milner MA (Oxon), PGCE

Jill MilnerThe Headmistress, Mrs Jill Milner, has worked in a range of Girls' Schools Association schools including St Helen's Northwood and Headington School, Oxford as well as in the maintained sector. She joined Walthamstow Hall in 2002 from Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls. She is an ISI inspector of independent schools. She is happily married with three children. Her youngest daughter is a pupil at Walthamstow Hall Junior School.

Our school has been dedicated to providing the very best in education for girls since 1838. Our academic record speaks for itself, but we believe education is about more than examination results, it is about developing people.

Our aim is to provide each girl with a broad and stimulating education that will give her a real enthusiasm for learning. Great emphasis is placed on pastoral care and extra-curricular opportunities. Whatever your daughter's talents, she will be helped to realise her potential by discovering her strengths and developing her interests.

The warm and friendly atmosphere at Walthamstow Hall, together with our dedicated staff, provides the ideal environment in which each girl can realise her potential in the classroom and beyond.

Junior girls are able to access the resources and facilities at the Senior School like The Ship Theatre and swimming pool in addition to the Junior School's own excellent facilities on its own site.

Our programme of development at both Junior and Senior sites ensures that girls are learning in an optimum environment.

We work in close partnership with parents at every stage and many families choose our own Senior School for the next phase of their education. New girls join the Senior School at 11+, 13+ and 16+ from over 20 'feeder' schools. Parents know that girls thrive when they are known, valued and well-taught by inspiring staff. Parents are always welcome to visit me to see the Senior School and meet the people who make Walthamstow Hall special.

I look forward to meeting you and your daughter. We hope you enjoy our website - do tell us what you think.
