The Head of Walthamstow Hall Junior School is a member of I.A.P.S. (The Independent Association of Preparatory Schools). The Junior School is also a member of G.S.A Girls' Schools Association.
If, at any stage this term, Walthamstow Hall has to close due to extreme weather the closure will be communicated via an emergency posting on this, the school website, and on the BBC Radio Kent website, www.bbc.co.uk/kent/local_radio. There will also be bulletins on BBC Radio Kent (96.7 FM, 104.2 FM, 774 AM, DAB and online)and KMFM. If there is heavy snowfall overnight or in the morning do check these sites or the radio before setting off on your journey to school.

Little Shipmates Nursery
An extension to the nursery classroom area for 'Little Shipmates' was officially opened in January 2006. The Nursery accepts girls who are two and a half or three years and parents can register their daughters' names at birth.
Girls in Nursery and Year 6 were thrilled to be invited to the opening ceremony, attended by parents and Governors. Mrs Austin, Head of the Junior School, welcomed all the visitors and helped with the cutting of the cake!
Due to growing demand for places in the ‘Early Years,’ an extension has been built which increases the teaching area by at least 25%. A new front entrance and play area have also been added and all the rooms have been refurbished and decorated in bright colours. Other classes in the Pre-Prep department and upper Juniors have also been redecorated and given a fresh new look.
The extension to the nursery classrooms follows the opening in 2005 of a new Science Laboratory, Key Stage 1 classrooms, Library and Reception Rooms.
Mrs Austin said: “Our beautiful new nursery classrooms provide little children with the best possible start to their education in a ‘home from home’ environment. Our well-qualified and enthusiastic staff bring out the potential of every child, identifying their needs to develop as individuals. We specialise in preparing girls for full-time education with discovery, play and friendship.”
In addition to their own outside play area, the girls can use other facilities in the grounds including the Wendy House and Play Boat which were donated by friends and parents.
