Pre-Prep

Nursery Education and Beyond

Waltahmstow Hall Pre PrepIn the Pre-Prep, a carefully planned programme builds a firm foundation for your daughter's learning. We recognise and develop each girl's talents and praise achievement. This results in happy and enthusiastic girls who thrive in a bright, stimulating environment where learning is exciting.

At Walthamstow Hall we specialise in educating girls and provide them with every opportunity to flourish. Our structured but lively programme enables girls to progress and develop self confidence. Consideration for others, courtesy and excellent behaviour are encouraged.

Walthamstow Hall Pre PrepFrom her first day in the 'Little Shipmates' nursery, your daughter will be treated as an individual and made to feel special. Parents can register their daughters for a place at birth. We can take girls from the age of two and a half, where the teacher/pupil ratio is 1:4. Many girls however start in the term after their third birthday. There is one teacher for every eight pupils in this age group.

As parents, you can choose how many of the ten sessions per week your daughter attends (we recommend a minimum of two). She may gradually increase her sessions until the September after her fourth birthday when she enters full-time school in Reception with her friends.

In Reception the normal maximum is 16 girls in each of the two classes, ensuring small groups for learning and lots of opportunity to make friends across the year-group. Swimming and ballet lessons are part of the curriculum from Reception.
