Head of Junior School Penelope Austin has been the Head of Walthamstow Hall Junior School since the beginning of 2004. She has an honours degree in Music and Drama from London University and has also studied at Trinity College of Music as a post-graduate. She gained a post-graduate Certificate in Education at Brighton University before entering teaching. Mrs Austin has a range of experience teaching throughout the Junior School age range. In 1998 she moved to Ardingly College Junior School where she held a number of posts of responsibility including KS2 Co-ordinator, Assistant Director of Studies and acting Deputy Head. She is also an ISI inspector of Independent Schools. Mrs Austin has gained the prestigious National Professional Qualification for Headship and has taken part in research on Leadership conducted by the National College for Leadership.
