The Campus

The Junior School moved from the Senior School to it's own site in Bradbourne Park Road in 1992. Here pupils enjoy the ambience of the Edwardian school building set in safe grounds amongst rhododendrons and pine trees.

The main school building boasts light and spacious classrooms for all, arranged around a large main school hall. The Nursery and Reception rooms are particularly bright and sunny, each having a conservatory and dedicated and secure ‘outdoor classroom’ area for maximum outdoor play whatever the time of year.

Our specialist facilities have all been specially designed and built for Junior School sized pupils. They include; a dedicated ICT Suite, a Science Laboratory, Design Technology, Art and Cookery Rooms, a well-stocked Library and a dedicated Music Centre.

Our modern and well-equipped Science Laboratory enables girls to carry out practical experiments as they learn to solve questions through testing, predicting, collating results and drawing conclusions.

Computer skills are developed in the up-to-date ICT Suite, as well as on an impressive stock of laptops used in classrooms across a wide variety of lessons.

The spacious Art Room allows pupils to use a variety of media whilst Design Technology allows them to explore different materials and make 3-D items themselves. The Cookery Room, complete with child height ovens, sinks and work surfaces enables the girls to prepare and cook a wide range of foods.

We have a separate Music Centre with a dedicated Music Classroom and Practice Rooms which are perfect for both one-to-one lessons with specialist tutors and whole-class performing, listening and composition.

Outside, pupils benefit from spacious playgrounds and specified "quiet areas", an adventure playground, a sports field for athletics and rounders and two netball/tennis courts.

Junior School pupils also use the 25 metre swimming pool, part of a complex built in 2008, and the school’s Ship Theatre both located at the Senior School in nearby Holly Bush Lane.

Development
