Procedures for Unforeseen Events
If Walthamstow Hall ever has to close due to unforeseen events, such as extreme bad weather, the closure will be communicated via an emergency posting on this, the school website, and on the BBC Radio Kent website, www.bbc.co.uk/kent/local_radio. There will also be bulletins on BBC Radio Kent (96.7 FM, 104.2 FM, 774 AM, DAB and online) and on KMFM. From the Autumn Term of 2011 we will also be introducing the Parentmail school–home communication system, which will enable us to send email and text alerts and updates. If there is heavy snowfall overnight or in the morning do check these sites or the radio before setting off on your journey to school.
We endeavour to post information on our website by 7.00am each morning.
During school closures school work assignments will be posted on the Pupil Login section of this website for students to complete at home. This system worked particularly well earlier this year when some students were unable to attend school due to heavy snow fall and later when some were stranded overseas due to the volcanic ash cloud grounding flights home.
