Young Enterprise Successes

Many congratulations to our Lower Sixth Young Enterprise company Nova on winning 'Best Trade Stand' at the West Kent Trade Fair on Sunday 27th January. The students were competing against other Young Enterprise companies from Tonbridge Grammar, Weald of Kent, the Judd, Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys and Kent College.

Sunday's success was followed on Monday evening by company member Elizabeth Brightwell-Gibbons taking second place in the Public Speaking part of the competition which involved the same schools. Elizabeth spoke on the topic:

"A brand is no longer what we tell the consumer – it is what consumers tell each other it is". How has social media and the internet affected customers and businesses?

Young Enterprise is an educational charity which enables young entrepreneurs to gain insight into how a business works. The scheme reflects competition in the business marketplace by pitching companies from different schools against each other,

This year, Walthamstow Hall's Young Enterprise company Nova formulated a retail business selling highly desirable tote bags with their own edgy and original designs. As well as selling their products Nova  sold shares in their company and developed a business plan which won high praise from the Young Enterprise judges.
