Remembrance Day

Pupils in different year groups learnt about various aspects of war in the week leading up to Remembrance Day.

Year 2 visited the Sevenoaks War Memorial as part of their History topic, 'What are we remembering on Remembrance Day?'

Year 3 led an assembly looking at what a hero is which ended in their explaining why poppies are used to remember the heroes lost in war.

Finally. Year 4 visited the Imperial War Museum in London. As well as handling artefacts from the Second World War  the girls completed a study about the Home Front and the Blitz and were guided to safety in a public shelter by an ARP Warden who told the girls how people stayed safe during an air raid.
