Super Saturday

18 January 2016

Wally Hall sportswomen enjoyed a fantastic weekend of sport; winning all of their lacrosse matches against Benenden; winning the U19 netball versatility competition at Kent College and finishing 2nd at the Senior Knole Run.

U19 Netball Versatility Competition at Kent College

On Saturday morning the U19 Netball squad beat Kent College A & B teams and Roedean and drew with Cranbrook to become the overall winners at the Kent College Versatility Competition, which involves all players playing in different positions over the course of the tournament.

Senior Knole Run

On Saturday afternoon, our cross country runners competed in the Senior Knole Run. Two of the team were Year 10 and above, the remaining 5 team members were from Years 8 and 9. Everyone ran incredibly well, with our 6 team members all finishing in the top 35 competitors, out of 160 runners.

Lizzie Miller was 9th, Genny Allan 12th, Vita Milana 13th, Rosanna Allan 22nd, Rebecca Smith 24th and Evie Butler 35th. Anna Williams-Walker finished a very creditable 61st. As a result of these amazing positions, the team finished 2nd overall, out of 29 teams - an amazing achievement and very well done to everyone who completed the very demanding 5km course. This is the first time Walthamstow Hall has entered the senior Knole competition - what a great start!

U13, U14, U14/15 Lacrosse v Benenden

Also on Saturday, the U13, U14 and combined U14/U15 lacrosse teams played away at Benenden - all 3 teams played excellent lacrosse and came away with wins. The U13s turned around a 4 - 1 deficit at half-time and took charge of the their game to win 9 - 5. The U14s controlled their match from the start and won 12 - 1 and the U14/15s enjoyed a fast paced game with plenty of scoring opportunities - they made sure they always stayed in front and won their match 9 - 4. Well done to all of our players.
