WH welcomes new Year 7's

21 June 2012

On 20th June we were really delighted to welcome into school the students who will be joining us as the new Year 7 (Third Form) in September.

Third Form tutors Mrs Howlett, Mrs Cox and Mrs Earnshaw-Punnett, ably assisted by the new prefects and Lower Sixth, organised a day of activities designed to help the girls get to know each other and their new school. The girls  also enjoyed their first Senior School lunch ('delicious') and talks from the PE, Drama and Music departments, which  included a surprize choir practice!

Any early apprehensions quickly vanished and the girls soon felt very at home, 'I wish we could come back tomorrow', said one as the day ended.

We very much look forward to welcoming those additional new Year 7’s, who due to existing commitments at their current schools were unable to attend on the 20th, into school for their induction visit on the 4th July.

All new Year 7 students and their parents are also warmly invited to a special 'Welcome Picnic' which is being very kindly organised by the Friends and Parents Association on Monday 3rd September from midday outside the Sixth Form Centre in Bayham Road.
