Walthamstow Hall girls represent Kent
18 January 2011
On Sunday 16th January 11 Walthamstow Hall girls represented Kent in the U15 Counties Tournament at Westonbirt. Both teams played extremely well in some challenging conditions and produced excellent team performances and results.
Kent B only lost 2 matches to come 3rd out of 7 counties and the A team lost only one match to come 2nd out of 9 counties.
Considering that Kent has taken its players from only two schools, Walthamstow Hall and Benenden, this is an outstanding result - very well done to all players involved.
In other matches this weekend the 1st and U15 lacrosse teams played St Paul's Girls School in London. The U15's dominated their match for the 1st half but were unable to stop St Paul's run of goals in the 2nd half and lost 11 - 6. the 1st team also produced a spirited performance but were not able to keep St Paul's attack out and lost their match 9 - 3.
At the Kent Schools Cross-Country Championship Fran Taylor-Lowen finished a very creditable 22nd out of 82 runners.
Very well done to all girls who represented the school and the county this week.
