Kent winners

11 May 2018

Wally Hall's Young Enterprise team Novoneesh won the Kent Finals against five other schools on Wednesday, after an afternoon of interviews with judges, showcasing their company and its business plan at a trade stand and a final presentation.

Novoneesh, which promote the use of British Sign Language on bespoke T-shirts, were praised by the judges for exceptional team work, the social cause which is integral to their product and their clear, thorough and professional presentation, for which they won the 'Best Presentation Award'.

The students were competing against companies from five other Kent school finalists: King's Canterbury, Rainham Mark Grammar, Sir Roger Manwood's, Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar and Bethany.

King's Canterbury were Runners Up with their company Planting Memories - greetings cards which come with a seed for the recipient to plant.

A total of 39 schools in Kent had originally entered the Young Enterprise competition, so it's a brilliant result for the Year 12 Wally students, who now go through to the South East Regional Finals at Guildford Cathedral in June.

Congratulations also to their advisers, Wally Business Teacher Flora Boorman and Business Advisor Mike McSweeney.
