U15s retain Kent Champions title

16 September 2012

On Saturday 15th September, the 1st, 2nd, U15 and U14 Lacrosse teams travelled to Benenden to play in the Kent Schools Lacrosse Tournament.

All teams played extremely well and achieved some excellent results.

1st Team Match Reports

The 1st team sailed through their section games beating two Kings teams and Benenden’s B team to meet Benenden A in the semi-finals. Unfortunately this was to be the one match they didn’t win all day and their 4-1 loss took them into the 3rd/4th place play-off where they met Benenden B again. They dominated once again in this match beating Benenden B 4-1 to come 3rd overall in the tournament.

2nd Team Match Reports

The 2nd team had a tough section in the tournament and although they lost two matches and drew one match, the team’s performances improved throughout the day and they took joint 5th place in the tournament.

U14 Team Match Reports

This was the U14 team’s first time playing in the Kent Schools Tournament and they really rose to the occasion. They only lost one of their section games against Benenden U15A team and beat Kings A, Benenden U14 B and Benenden U15 C. They just lost out on a semi-final place on goal difference to come 3rd in their section and after a tough 5th/6th place play-off they lost to Benenden U14A team to come 6th in the tournament.

U15 Team Match Reports

The U15 team went into the tournament as defending champions and after a slightly shaky start, their 3 wins and a draw took them into the semi-finals against Kings A. They managed to produce their best performances at the right stage of the tournament and having beaten Kings A 8-0 in the semi, they led from the start in the final against Benenden A winning 4-2 to retain the trophy and their title as Kent U15 Champions.

Well done to all our teams and players who represented the school so well this weekend.
