Third Form and Lower Fourth in a poetry spin!

Jim MacCool travels all over the world telling tales, singing songs and performing poems and rhymes from Ulster-Scots traditional culture. He sees himself very much as a ‘travelling bard’ and tries to teach his audience a little bit of social history as well as entertaining them. For his show here, he sang songs and played traditional instruments  to the girls, taught them some songs and rhymes, showed Year 7 how to do a traditional wedding dance and let a couple of lucky volunteers work a little puppet which they could make ‘dance’ as he sang. He ended with a ‘tall tale’ from Scotland all about some mysterious missing milk and a very strange old lady…
