The A Team

 It was another great year for A level and Cambridge Pre-U results at Walthamstow Hall this morning. An incredible 60% of grades were A* and A, and well over a third of students, 39%, achieved a clean sweep of 3 or more A* and A grades. 83% of grades were passed at A* - B level.

These very strong results have secured places on incredibly competitive courses such as; Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, Mathematics, English, History, Drama and Fashion at the UK’s top universities including; Oxford, Durham, St Andrews, Bristol, Exeter, Leeds, Imperial College London, Southampton, Cardiff and Central St Martin’s School of Art. Over 80% of the leavers will be taking up places at prestigious Russell Group universities.

Speaking as the girls collected their results, Headmistress Mrs Jill Milner said;

“If ever there was an appropriate time to use a sporting analogy on results day this is it. These students were Walthamstow Hall’s first ever National Champions when they won the national lacrosse championships in Year 10 and they’ve never looked back. As a year group they have always made the very best of all of their talents, combining them with hard work, determination and flair. This upper sixth ‘team’ have always aimed high and taken a very mature approach to their studies.  They have been an embodiment of ‘can do’ and we are all so proud to watch them move on to a fantastic array of top universities. As with all sporting triumphs this success is a team effort and I pay enormous tribute to the ‘back room’ team of teaching staff and supportive parents”.
