Swimming success

17 January 2018

Great performances in the pool have placed Walthamstow Hall second in the Kent Secondary Schools Individual Swimming Championships.

The school was represented by 15 swimmers competing in 21 individual events.  Everyone put in a good effort, but there were some standout medal-winning performances.

In the Junior age group, Imogen in Year 8 won gold in the 100m breastroke and was placed 5th in the 200m individual medley.

In the Intermediate age group, Millie in Year 9 won gold in the 100m backstroke and Zoe in Year 10 won gold in the 100m freestyle. Lilie in Year 9 was placed 4th in the 100m freestyle.

In the Senior age group, Emma in Year 11 won a silver medal in both the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

It was a fantastic effort all round and meant that the school moved up two places from last year's 4th position, to come second to Dane Court Grammar School.

Big thanks are due to the staff and also to the parents who came to cheer on the competitors.
