Kent Secondary Schools’ Relay

Swimming Championships 2016

Walthamstow Hall’s Junior Swim Team comprising of Amelia Childs, Lilie Chambers, Jasmine Wallace, Katie Vowel and Edith Norton and our Intermediate Team comprising of Beth Hook, Zoë Naylor-Perrott, Isabella Childs, Emma Watson and Grace Mitchell swum at the Kent Schools’ Relay Championships on Saturday afternoon in Gillingham. This competition round also gave Walthamstow Hall the opportunity to qualify for the English Schools’ finals at the London Aquatic Centre in November. The competition was of an exceptionally high standard with many of the final race positions decided by fractions of a second and we are delighted to report on the following results.

Gold medallists in the Intermediate 4 x 50m Medley Relay Team.

Gold medallists in the Intermediate 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team.

Silver medallists in the Junior 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team.

Also an outstanding performance in the Junior 4 x 50m Medley Relay Team.

The girls were supported and supervised on the day with their swim coaches Mr Smith and Mrs Dean. We are now awaiting the final results from all of the other schools over the weeks ahead to see if Walthamstow Hall has been successful in qualifying for the National Round and will update you accordingly.

Congratulations to all of our Swimmers on a superb performance.

Report from MR Richard Smith, Swim Coach Walthamstow Hall
