Super Cool

14 May 2015

As part of Science Week, students from Years 7, 8 and 9 were treated to a 'Super Cool Show' from the Science Museum in the Ship theatre yesterday.

The show demonstrated the effects of temperature with exciting experiments using liquid nitrogen to explode balloons, make ice cream, turn bananas into hammers and smash plasticine. A repeat of the show was enjoyed by Walthamstow Hall Junior School and St John's Primary school pupils later in the day.

The Super Cool Show is just one of the highlights of Walthamstow Hall Science Week, which this year has posed the question, 'Where's the Science in that?' Every lunch time students and teachers have been invited to the science labs to discover the chemistry, biology and physics in the every day things that we take for granted, everything from electricity to cosmetics.
