Students discuss Medicine with Professor Hunt

1 July 2011

Over fifty students from the Lower Fifth upwards (Years 10 - 13), who are interested in a career in medicine, met with old girl Beverley Hunt, Professor of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and Consultant in Haematology, Pathology and Lupus at St Thomas' NHS Medical Trust.

Professor Hunt gave students an insight into different medical career options open to them and advised on the sorts of work and life experiences they should be gaining in the field whilst still at school. Students were rapt by Professor Hunt's talk and had a wide range of questions to ask at the end of the session. Whilst in school Professor Hunt, who is the President of the Walthamstow Hall Old Girls' Association, also met with the Upper Sixth to talk about their transition from current WH pupils into old girls and the network of opportunities which that brings.
