Strictly Brilliant

8 July 2012

As soon as the last guests had left the Hall after Prize-Giving on July 7th the Strictly Wally 2012 cast and crew were taking their places, rehearsing final routines, running sound checks, suspending a giant glitter ball and transforming the School Hall into a Ballroom.

After last year's glittering inaugural event Strictly Wally 2012 didn't disappoint. 16 students battled it out on the dance floor with breath-taking ChaCha, Samba and Charleston routines performed in front of the esteemed judging panel of Stephen Beagley, a former principal dancer at the Royal Ballet, National Association of Teachers of Dancing teacher Kimberly Wrisberg and our very own Mrs Philips, from the Drama Department, and Director of Music Dr Peat.

Whilst scores and votes were counted the audience had another treat in the form of a Staff Dance ‘Spectacular’. Many congratulations to Strictly Wally Director, Upper Sixth Amber Small, her Assistant, Lower Sixth Madeleine Jebson and the whole Strictly Wally Team for an incredible evening which raised over £1,000 for charities Magpie Dance and Dance Back.
