Sporty success

12 October 2018

Huge congratulations to our U13 cross country team who have pulled off a fabulous first for the School by winning the Somerhill Regional Cross Country Competition.

This annual event started ten years ago, but this is the first time Walthamstow Hall has won.

It was a proper team effort, and the students were a big 20 points clear of the team in second place (Sevenoaks School).  Very well done to the following students: Lily, who placed 1st, Sophie (3rd), Amber (5th), Millie (14th), Phoebe (30th), Ava (35th), Florrie (36th) and Laura (39th).

Away from school, Sophie and Lily formed two thirds of the team who won the National Road Relays at the weekend - out of a total of 70 teams.

Each team member had to run 3.8km and Lily clocked the fastest time in the U13 category for her individual leg. It's very exciting to have National Champions in the School.

Onto netball; on Wednesday the U16s were in Rainham for the County Tournament.

They had six very convincing wins and just one loss, which means they have qualified for the County Finals next month. They will join the School's U19s who have already qualified.
