Ski Trip

25 April 2014

48 students, from across all year groups, together with 6 staff, enjoyed a wonderful school ski trip in Zauchensee and Flachau in Austria over the Easter holidays. The resorts offered 100kms of excellent skiing in fantastic Spring conditions.

Despite the lateness of Easter this year, students enjoyed 6 full days on the pistes: 2 days of sunshine,  2 days of snow, cloud and even an evening of rain which had no effect on the snow – a reminder that being up a mountain in Europe is very different to life in Kent! Skiing conditions were superb, fully open, well looked after pistes with lovely snow. With the added benefits of an amazing hotel, 200m from the slopes, and no queues for the lifts it was the perfect environment in which the girls could hone their skiing.

The students were a credit to the school from start to finish. The Head of Ski School and Rep both commented on  the girls’ faultless behaviour and approach to skiing. The top group of skiers, made up of girls from across all years, were ‘simply the best’, that the Head of Ski School ‘had ever skied with'.

So many happy memories were made on this trip. Ski school and a full programme of traditional après ski for schools (karaoke, bowling, disco etc) forged firm friendships across all year groups, Year 7s particularly looked forward to their bedtime stories from the Sixth Form.

Many thanks to the girls for being really wonderful, despite the physical exertions of skiing their enthusiasm never diminished, and to the staff who made this such an unforgettable trip.

We look forward to France 2015, details to be announced soon…
