Science Misadventures!

Last week Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a scientific treat at the Ship Theatre when they to see Fran Scott’s Science Misadventures show at the Ship Theatre at the senior school. Fran is a very enthusiastic scientist who presents Science on CBBC, where she works with the likes of Dick and Dom. Science Misadventures had the girls on the edge of their seats as Fran gave funny, exciting and explosive explanations of concepts such as friction, pressure and the properties of non-Newtonian fluids and solids!

The girls had a wonderful time watching and sometimes joining in various demonstrations from a light bulb being fired from a canon to ketchup wars and flaming hands!

Making Science accessible and exciting for the girls is, of course, nothing new at Walthamstow Hall. In the Junior School science lab this week Science clubbers have explored temperature by making ice cream and  irreversible reactions by making delicious cinder toffee!
