Remembrance Day

On Friday 9th November 5F lead an assembly on 'Remembering', thoughtfully linking Remembrance Day to the reason why we wear poppies. They ended their assembly by creating four large poppies and leaving their fellow pupils with the thought that wearing a poppy is a sign of remembering those in the armed forces, both past and present and their families, and showing that we care and appreciate what they have done for us.

To further mark Remembrance Day Year 2 pupils walked to the Sevenoaks War Memorial as part of their History topic, 'What are we remembering on Remembrance Day?' The girls drew pictures and looked at the statue of the soldier and the poppies and crosses which had been laid on Remembrance Sunday.
