Many congratulations to Lower Sixth students Anna Pitts-Tucker and Isobel McCarthy who took 1st and 2nd place respectively at the Young Enterprise Public Speaking competition for West Kent held in Tonbridge last night.

Young Enterprise is the UK's largest business and enterprise education charity which aims, "to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise." The organisation's guiding priniciple is to achieve this through 'learning by doing'.

The topics for debate were; 'Is there any future for the High Street retailer? and 'Is Crowd funding the biggest revolution that business has seen in modern times? 

Anna and Isobel beat strong competition from Tonbridge Grammar, Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar, Tunbridge Wells Boys' Grammar, Skinners Kent Academy, Weald of Kent  Grammar, Beechwood Sacred Heart and Kent College. The judging panel praised the Walthamstow Hall speakers on the high quality of content and delivery.
