IAPS National Swimming Finals 2017

K2, Crawley

6th May 2017

On Saturday May 6th Grace, Martha, Olivia and Madeleine from Year 5 competed in the IAPS National Finals at K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley. The girls were competing in the Medley relay event and all swum exceptionally well improving on their qualifying time by more than 4 seconds.

Later in the day the individual events took place and Felicity represented the school in the 25 metre butterfly race for the U11’s and Martha in the 25 meter Breaststroke for the U10’s. Both girls swum very well in their individual events with Martha qualifying for the finals in the last session of the day. Martha was seeded second going into her final and in a very close race just missed out on a medal, finishing fourth overall.

Well done to all the girls who competed exceptionally well amongst many of the best swimmers from around the country.

A special mention must go to Mrs Howlett who dedicated her time to officiate all day at the competition.
