National success

20 November 2017

For the first time, the Senior School was represented in every event at the English Schools National Relay Championships this weekend, with three teams fighting their way to the finals of the top ten teams in England.

Wally swimmers across all age groups had qualified for both the Freestyle and Medley Relay Finals at the London Aquatic Centre on Saturday.  Each category was made up of the top 30 teams in the English Secondary Schools Association (ESSA) event.

On the day, three of the school's six teams fought their way through the heats to make the final, which comprised the top ten teams in England.

In a brilliant display of individual and team effort, the Junior 4x 50m Freestyle Relay team came 7th, the Intermediate 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay team also came 7th, and the Intermediate 4 x 50m Medley Relay Team came 9th.

Congratulations to all of the girls on their outstanding performances.  Special thanks too to the parents who came to support them, to Mrs Howlett and Mr Smith for their all their support and training and to Mrs Howlett again who officiated at the competition.
